| Worlds of Fun is themed around Jules Verne's book Around the World in 80 Days. The five worlds include: Orient, Scandanavia, Europa, Africa, and Americana. Americana features the Timber Wolf, Worlds of Fun's first wooden roller coaster and one of the top thirty in the world. Right next to the Timber Wolf is the Thunder Hawk. Thunder Hawk will flip you over and hang you upside-down all while cooling you off with its interactive fountains. Also in Americana is the Detonator, a 200 ft tall, twin tower ride that will shoot you 0-160 ft in less than four seconds and 0-45 mph in less than one second. Right behind the Detonator is Camp Snoopy, our children's area of the park.
While we have a moment to relax, I'd like to remind all our parents with small children about our rider swap policy. If you would like to enjoy some of our larger attractions, just have one responsible member of your party wait at the exit with the children while the rest of your party enters the line. Once they get to the front of the line, they notify the ambassador that they are part of a rider swap. When the ride is over, they swap places with the adult at the exit. This ensures all our guests that they can enjoy the attractions without having to wait in line twice. If you have any questions regarding our rider swap policy, please ask any of our ride ambassadors today.
Off to the right is the fabulous Zulu. Zulu will turn you upside-down using only centrifugal force to hold you in, no seatbelts, no harnesses, no lapbars. Be sure to check out Zulu if you are over 54" tall.
To your right is the Boomerang. Boomerang stands 125 ft tall and will turn you upside-down three times before sending you through the course backwards. And off to your left is the Fury of the Nile. Africa is also home of the Mamba. Mamba stands 205 ft tall, drops you 204 at speeds of 75 mph at a 60 degree angle.
Off to your right is Le Taxitour. Feel free to take an antique car ride through the European country side. If you're looking for a little bit more speed, try our Grand Prix Raceway, located in Americana right behind the sunken fountain. Tickets must be purchased before you ride.
This just about concludes our tour of Worlds of Fun. I'd like to remind all of you to remain seated until the train comes to a complete stop.
When we pull into the station, I'm going to ask all of you if you had fun on the train today, and when I do, all of you are going to say "Yippie Skippie! We had fun!" Say it real loud so everyone on the platform can hear.
Are you ready? Ok, here we go. Did everyone have fun on the train today?
That was terrible! Let's try that again! Did everyone have fun on the train today?
I think that was worse than the first one, but I ran out of time. Thank you for riding the Worlds of Fun Railroad. Please exit carefully to your left and enjoy your stay here at Worlds of Fun!
| Now as you're waving goodbye, just a reminder to keep your hands and your feet inside the train at all time. A few years ago, a girl stuck her arm out and got hit by a train. That's right, folks, she was bushwacked, but she's alright. In fact, she just got her degree in short hand.
Off to your left is the Orient section of the park. You'll find a variety of rides in the Orient section such as the Rockin' Reeler, Bamboozler, Skyliner, Ripchord, and the Spinning Dragons. The Spinning Dragons is a unique designed coaster that will take you 54 feet in the air on cars designed to spin on their own axes.
We are now entering the Scandanavian section of the park. To your left is the Viking Voyager, Worlds of Fun's first white water flume ride and the only attraction our smaller guests can enjoy. Also in Scandanavia is the All Stars Grill, Worlds of Fun's version of a sports themed restraunt. We are now passing the Sea Dragon which will swing you to heights of 54 feet in the air.
As we come around the bend, to your left is the Octopus and the Finish Fling, two of Words of Fun's original thrillers.
Just beyond this trestle, we will be entering the town of Possom Trot. A bit of history for you, many years ago, a group of settlers formed a town along the Missouri River. They had to name their town and when they voted, two names were on the ballet: Possom Trot and Kansas City.
Possom Trot used to be home of the Tate family. There was the head of the family, Dic Tate, who just wanted to run everything. Uncle Ro Tate kept trying to change everything around and his sister Agi Tate was always stirring up trouble. Nephew Irri Tate unfortunally couldn't get along with anyone and Hessi Tate and Vegi Tate were always boring to be around. Aunt Immi Tate always just followed the crowd and Cousin Deves Tate just ruined everything he touched.
| since i'm not working at worlds of fun anymore, i thought i might say this:
'All aboard and welcome to the worlds of fun railroad. While boarding the train, please remember food and drink are not allowed and small children must be seated towards the inside of the seat. We ask that you watch your head and step as you board and if you bump your head, watch your language, this is a family ride.
I'll be your conductor today, my name is Brenna. Can i get a big "hi Brenna"?
We'll be leaving the station in just a few minutes, so i would like to take this opportunity to give you a little information about the train. It's powered by a 25 ton authentic steam engine named Eli and travels over one mile of steel track that's over 85 years old. This 36" gauge American type engine was the standard locomotive on the railroad for over 100 years.
Now raise your hand if you're riding the train today because you heard it is the most exciting ride here at worlds of fun. Raise your hand if you're riding today because you heard i was going to be your conductor. Raise your hand if you're riding because you're hot, you're tired, and your feet hurt and you felt like sitting down for about 10 minutes.
Ok folks. As the train prepares to leave the station, I would like to remind all of you there is no smoking, eating, drinking, or throwing objects from the train....yes this does include the person sitting next to you. No matter how annoying they may get, they need to remain next to you the entire trip. Now sit back in those comfortable form fitted seats we have provided for you as we take you on a tour of worlds of fun. Off to the right is Le Carrousel, one of the many rides sure to delight small children and bring back fond memories for the adults.
As the train pulls away from the station, everyone raise your right hand....or you left. Now, shake it back and forth and wave goodbye to everyone on the platform.'
